What is the Learner Results report and when should I use it?

The Learner Results report provides a summary of each learner’s overall progress across topics, pathways, roles, goals and hours of training.

Written by Lou Monsour

Overview

The Learner Results report provides a summary of each learner’s overall progress in one view.

This includes the percentage of their enrolled topics and pathways they have completed, their progress towards any assigned roles and goals, and the date they last logged in.

The report also shows Hours Enrolled, which is the total estimated hours of all topics the learner is enrolled in, and Hours Complete, which is how many of those hours the learner has completed.

Use this report when you want to see results by learner. To see results by topic or pathway, use the Topic Results and Pathway Results reports. For enrolment-level detail such as due dates, completed dates and custom fields, use the Enrolments report.

A dash (-) in a column means the learner has nothing assigned in that area.

Note: Role and goal progress only displays if Roles and Goals have been set up within your portal.

Locating the Learner Results report

Navigate to Admin → Analytics and click the Learner Results report under the Results category.

Filtering your report

By default, the report shows results for all learners you have visibility of, based on their current enrolments. If the Groups feature is enabled and you are not a Super Admin, you will only see learners who belong to your groups.

You can search by name, user name or email, or filter the report by:

  • Knowledge: Topics or pathways

  • Status: all, current or lapsed

  • People: default and custom fields

  • Categories: any categories that exist in your portal

  • Roles: any roles that exist in your portal

  • Groups: The groups you have visibility of, if enabled in your portal

Once you have selected one or multiple filters, click Apply filters. The list of learners will then update, and the number of matching results displays next to Filtered results.

You can also sort the report by Person or Last Login by clicking the column heading. To see more details about a learner, click their name to open their profile, where you can view their individual progress.

Note: Follow our guide to learn how to save your favourite filters and download reports.

Example

The ABCE Training company wants to check how team leaders are progressing through their training, and follow up with anyone who has not logged in recently.

ABCE Training uses the Learner Results report, filtering by 'Team Leader’ equals 'Yes'. They then sort the report by Last Login to identify anyone who hasn't logged in recently.

From the report, they can see each team leader’s progress across the topics and pathways they're enrolled in, and any assigned roles or goals, alongside their hours complete and hours enrolled. They identify and follow up with anyone who needs a reminder to continue their training.
