Overview

The CE Summary or Continuing Education report shows details of the total points or time accrued by learners across topics, pathways and external knowledge when Categories have been set up to record continuing education for time or points.

Note: This report is only visible if categories have been set up within your portal to record continuing education.

Filtering your report

By default, the report shows details of all current enrolments, however, you can filter the report by:

  • People (default and custom fields)

  • Roles (any roles that exist in your portal)

  • Completed dates (selected periods of time or custom dates)

Note: The column headings in the image displayed above are examples only. These column headings will reflect any Continuing Education you've set up within your portal using Categories.

After creating a filter, you can save it as a favourite search using the 'Save Search' button. Favourite searches are available when you click the star button (next to the 'Save Search' button).

To clear all applied filters, click the 'Reset' button.

Report downloads

You can download your report as a CSV file using the 'Download' button.

When you download reports, CSV files are generated in the background. Once ready, they can be accessed (and downloaded to your computer) from the Downloads area of Analytics.

Your downloaded CE Summary reports will be available to you for 30 days following their download, and are not visible to other users.

For auditing purposes, all downloads are recorded in the Timelines report.

Example

The BigBusiness company have just been awarded a project that requires a project manager who is certified in 'Microsoft Projects' and 'Agile Methodology'.

The company has several project managers but not all are experienced in the core competencies identified. The team manager wants to compare the points each has accrued in relation to these areas to assist in selecting the most appropriate person to lead the project.

The team manager uses the CE Summary report to filter people to see all of their project managers (using the People filter and their 'Job Title' custom field to select 'Project Manager').

The report displays the CE points each project manager has accumulated for Microsoft Projects and Agile Methodology. They can see who has and hasn't accumulated points and who has the most which helps narrow down the options significantly.
