How can I report on a specific user?

User profiles have a Timeline tab that you can run a Timeline report specifically for that selected user.

Overview

At times you may need to review certain actions that have been performed specific to an individual user. You can do this by navigating to Admin -> Account -> People and locating the specific user from the list, clicking their name to then open their user profile.

From here, you will see a Timeline tab, by default, this report shows all knowledge, events, actions and for all dates, however, you can filter the report by:

  • Knowledge (topics, articles and pathways)

  • Events (topic/article/pathway deleted, created or updated, enrolments completed, created or deleted, user created, deleted, deactivated, login, reactivated, updated.)

  • Actions (activity, created, deactivated, deleted, downloaded, login, reactivated or updated)

  • Dates (a selected period of time or custom dates)

Report downloads

You can download your report as a CSV file using the download button.

When you download reports, CSV files are generated in the background. Once ready, they can be accessed (and downloaded to your computer) from the Downloads area of Analytics.

Your downloaded Timelines reports will be available to you for 30 days following their download, and are not visible to other users.

For auditing purposes, all downloads are recorded in the Timelines report.

Example

The ABCDE training company wants to view a specific users login history, whilst they are looking at this users profile.

Once they have selected the user from the People page, they select the Timeline tab on the users profile and use the Event filter to select 'User login'. They apply the filter and they can then see the full history list of that users logins.
