There are two ways to start creating topics or articles in Tribal Habits.

Note: Creating topics requires a Creator subscription. All organisations can create articles regardless of their subscription.

Important: Super Admins, Standard Admins and Knowledge Admins can create knowledge. There is no need to enable the Creator permission for these admin types. The Creator permission set in the user profile is for users outside these admin types.

How can Admins enable 'Creator' access for a user?

There are two (2) options for Admins who wish to give someone who is not a Super Admin, Standard Admin or Knowledge Admin 'Creator' access. These are:

  1. Assign a user as a creator for a specific article or topic, OR

  2. Enable general 'Creator' access within a user's profile.

Option 1 - Assign a user as a creator for a specific article or topic

This can be done several ways. Search for the specific article or topic in Knowledge and click on that knowledge to access the settings. Under the Access tab → go to the 'Select Creators and assessors for this topic' panel → click on 'Edit creators' → add the user who will be a Creator → Save.

Alternatively, directly in the user's profile you can go to their Topic or Article tabs. Beside the title of the new topic or article, click 'Make creator'.

Option 2 - Enable general 'Creator' access within a user's profile

Admins can edit any existing user's profile by going to AdminPeopleUsers, and selecting the relevant user. On the 'Permissions' tab, click on Edit permissions → set Creator to 'Yes' → Save.

Once enabled, this person will see the CREATE button on their dashboard and this allows them to create new topics and articles on their own.
