Are compliance topics from the Tribal Habits library legally reviewed?

This article explains how topics that reference Australian or New Zealand legislation are developed and reviewed.

Written by Joey Halbert

In Tribal Habits, our training library includes topics that reference Australian and New Zealand legislation and regulatory frameworks. We also have Global topics, which are not written for any jurisdiction, but represent typical best practices and generally accepted standards in most jurisdictions.

We take a structured approach to developing and maintaining this content to ensure it reflects relevant legal requirements and recognised industry standards at the time of publication.

Important: Topics that reference Australian or New Zealand legislation or regulation are developed in line with applicable local laws and industry best practice and are reviewed by external legal firms as required, including McCullough Robertson, LegalVision and Dentons.

Reviews are undertaken when there are significant legislative changes or as part of our periodic content refresh process.

It's important to note that these materials are provided for general information only, are not legal advice, and are not tailored to any individual organisation or circumstances. While we take reasonable care in preparing and maintaining this content, it is provided “as is”, may change from time to time, and should not be relied upon as a substitute for your own professional or legal advice or your own internal policies.

What this means for customers

Our compliance training supports workforce education and promotes awareness of key obligations in a practical, accessible format.

Responsibility for interpreting and applying legislative requirements within your specific operating environment remains with your organisation, including ensuring alignment with your internal policies, governance structures, and regulatory obligations.

Where required, organisations should conduct their own internal review processes to confirm suitability for their particular circumstances.

What about cultural awareness and inclusion topics?

Topics such as Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander awareness, neurodiversity, and similar subjects are not compliance topics and are not tied to specific legislation or regulatory standards.

These topics were originally developed in partnership with the Queensland Human Rights Commission (QHRC) and have been updated over time as terminology and best practices have evolved.

Like all our library content, they go through an internal quality review process to ensure information is accurate, sourced responsibly, and reflects current thinking. There is no formal accreditation body for these topic areas.

Need something tailored to your organisation?

If you require content that reflects specific legal interpretations, industry requirements, or internal procedures, we recommend seeking advice from your own legal or professional advisors.

You may copy and edit library topics within the platform to better align them with your policies or terminology. Please note, however, that as copied library topics do not retain a link to the original topic, future updates will not be automatically applied.

We also offer a content conversion service where we can assist with adapting the compliance topics from our library to suit your requirements more closely. You can learn more about this service here.
