Overview
In this step, you'll review some initial IT requirements. It's a straightforward process, as Tribal Habits runs in your web browser and requires no installation or downloads.
This is step 1 in the implementation process. After this step, you'll move on to step 2 – Admin Roles.
How to complete this step?
To complete this step, follow the actions below:
Set up SSO (optional). If your organisation uses single sign-on (SSO), review our SSO support articles. If SSO isn't enabled in your portal, contact Support to discuss activating it within your subscription. If you don't use SSO, skip to the next action.
Safelist emails and domains (if required). Speak with your internal IT team and share the list of emails and domains to safelist.
What are the best practices with this step?
Enable SSO early: We recommend enabling SSO as soon as possible in your implementation, and certainly before you enrol any SSO users. This significantly reduces hassle for your users.
Supported platforms: We support the SAML 2.0 standard, including popular platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), ADFS, Okta, OneLogin and Salesforce. Learn more about SSO setup.
Mixing SSO and non-SSO users: You can have both SSO users (e.g. staff) and non-SSO users (e.g. contractors or customers) in the same portal. The LOGIN field determines which is which. Learn how to set up both user types.
Prevent SSO auto-provisioning: We usually advise enabling the Prevent SSO auto-provision of new users setting, so that users cannot be created if their inputted credentials do not match what is in your SSO environment.
Safelisting/Whitelisting: Most organisations don't need to safelist anything. However, we recommend safelisting certain emails and domains in your corporate firewall for maximum compatibility, particularly if you have a rigorous IT security process.
Embedded third-party content: If you embed content from third-party websites (such as YouTube) in your training, your organisation will need to allow those sites. If your network blocks YouTube, it will also be blocked within Tribal Habits.
