Overview
Tribal Habits can be accessed from anywhere in the world with an internet connection and a supported browser. No matter where your users log in from, all data is hosted with AWS in Sydney, Australia. Learn more about how IT security is managed at Tribal Habits.
Access from mainland China and other locations
Like many SaaS platforms, Tribal Habits applies additional security checks to traffic from mainland China. The same checks currently also apply to traffic from Bulgaria, Estonia, Hong Kong, Romania, and Russia. This list may be updated from time to time.
When someone in one of these locations visits your portal, they may be asked to complete a short security check, such as a captcha, before continuing. This is common for overseas platforms accessed from these locations, so your users may already be familiar with it.
Some users won’t see a check at all.
If a user passes the check, they won’t be asked again in that browser on that device for one year.
They may see the check again if they use a different device or browser, or clear their browser cookies.
If your users in these locations access the portal from a fixed IP address, such as an office network, contact us and we can add it to our approved list so those users aren’t checked.
Note: If you have users based in China or any of the other listed locations, mention this in your rollout communications so they know what to expect.
Important: Some internet services are restricted in mainland China, so some content may load slowly or not at all. This can include embedded third-party content, such as videos.
FAQs
Is Tribal Habits blocked in China?
No. Users in China, and in the other listed locations, can access Tribal Habits, but some may be asked to complete a short security check first.
Why do users in these locations see a security check?
The check is part of our firewall’s adaptive security, which helps protect your portal and data. Whether a user is checked is decided automatically, so we can’t turn it on or off for individual users..
How do we add an IP address to the approved list?
Send your fixed IP address(es) to [email protected] and we’ll add them for you.
