All Tribal Habits topics have options to enable standard analytics polls to collect topic benchmark user, topic and quality data. You can access the analytics options in a topic if you are a topic creator or Admin.

Start editing your topic and switch to the Settings menu and select Manage Navigation. To enable standard analytics, you will need to enable the Overview and/or Destination modules. Each of those modules then has standard analytics you can individually enable or disable.

What analytics are available in the Overview module?

If you enable the Overview module, Tribal Habits creates a short introduction to your topic. Explorers will navigate directly into the Overview when they first explore a topic and can review the key details of that topic. In the second section in the Overview module, you can enable several optional analytics.

  • Prior experience. You can ask explorers how much prior experience they have with this topic. This is very useful for 1:1 coaching purposes, so see if the explorer's view of their experience aligns with the view of other people. IT is also useful to later filter topic data and outcomes based upon existing levels of experience. For example, are experienced explorers finding the topic more or less useful than inexperienced explorers?

  • Prior training. You can ask explorers if they have received prior training on this topic. This is a useful poll to test the relevancy of the topic. Is this a topic which explorers have never been offered before, or might have been desperately waiting for? This poll can allow you to demonstrate the value of Tribal Habits internally, by showing how it is providing explorers with new knowledge they have not previously been able to access.

  • Learning objectives. You can ask explorers to write a short answer outlining what they are hoping to discover in this topic. Explorers can then compare their answers with those from previous explorers. This is a very useful poll to focus explorers on the topic and give them a goal to achieve. It can also be useful for 1:1 coaching, and their answer will be automatically copied into their journal for that purpose. Finally, it can be very useful data if the topic is not being well received - it can provide clues as to what content explorers were expecting to find...but didn't.

What analytics are available in the Destination module?

If you enable the Destination module, Tribal Habits creates a short conclusion to your topic. Explorers will first complete a set of final analytics, and then receive a nice finishes message. In the first section of the Destination module, you can enable several optional analytics.

  • Expectations met. You can ask explorers if they found what they were expecting in the topic. This is a good match for the 'Learning objectives' analytic in the Overview module. This poll reveals if the topic overview is accurately describing the topic. It's a very useful poll to show relevancy and value of a topic too.

  • Topic quality. You can ask explorers how they feel the topic is developing. This is a standard topic quality style poll (Kirkpatrick Level 1 measurement). It's an important benchmark for new topics in particular, when you are still testing and refining the topic.

  • Topic feedback. This is an optional open question to ask for written feedback about the topic from explorers. This option is best used with the first topic analytics in this module to help gather feedback about possible problems or suggested improvements for this topic.

  • Critical functions. You can ask explorers to select up to six critical organisational functions which this topic may have addressed - enhance productivity, reduce expenses, increase revenue, improve service, boost engagement or manage quality. This is a very useful poll in the right topic. These polls allow you to assess if the topic is hitting key organisational goals, as well as analysing your overall topic library to see where it is focused. If you have strong organisational goals, this analytic is essential to see if your explorers feel your topics are assisting them in the required areas.

  • Key discoveries. You can ask explorers to write a short answer summarising their key discoveries in a topic. This is very powerful data and fantastic for internal reporting. It provides valuable qualitative data about a topic to share with management or stakeholders. It also provides a great summary of the key moments in a topic for Admins and topic creators. If you have no enabled Reflection elements as an interaction within a topic, this analytic provides at least one easy option to capture qualitative data.
