You can create a quiz anywhere in your topic or article with the Quiz element. This element is similar to our Poll element in that you set a question and provide 1-10 responses for learners to select from.
In the case of a quiz, you indicate which answer/s are correct. Poll responses, on the other hand, do not have correct and incorrect choices (just options for learners to choose from).

Add the element to your topic or article by selecting the 'Quiz' option from the Content box, then follow these steps:
Optionally provide a label for your quiz. The label is hidden to explorers and is used for reporting purposes. It also helps you differentiate between multiple quizzes within the same topic or article.
Select a layout option.
Specify your question and provide up to ten possible responses. Alternatively, you can select a template for your quiz question and update the template question and responses, as required.
Optionally include an image with your quiz. Please note, only images added to your quiz using our image uploader support 'click-to-zoom' functionality. Images inserted directly into text do not zoom when clicked by learners.
Optionally specify feedback to be displayed once an explorer has selected their response(s)
Manage your quiz settings, as preferred, and click Save.

Let's review some of the options for quizzes.
Option - Layouts
When creating a quiz, you can select one of several layout options including: one or two columns, two to five buttons, or ten buttons. The responses you set for explorers to choose from are displayed according to the selected layout.
Columns - one or two columns of checkboxes
Buttons - two, three, four, five or ten buttons
Note: Buttons work best with very short answers (1-3 words per answer).
Option - Templates
At the top of the Quiz element are a number of templates to inspire or accelerate your quiz creation. These include True/False, Pick one, Pick many, or What if?.
When you select a template, we populate the Quiz element with the structure for your question and answers (along with some settings) which you then edit as required.
Note: Selecting a template will overwrite any existing quiz.
Option - Quiz settings
Explorers must select X number of answers - By default, explorers can select as many answers as they like. However, creators can select an option for each quiz which requires explorers to enter answers equal to the correct number of answers.
If you want your explorers to be uncertain about the number of correct answers, then leave the quiz in its default 'many' answer mode.
If you want to avoid your explorers entering fewer or greater answers than they should, then enable the specific number of answers option. For example, in a True/False question, it would be useful to enable this option, to ensure explorers only enter a single response.
If you have a 'Select the 3 correct answers' style question, then enabling this option will require explorers to select exactly 3 correct answers.
Note: Quizzes that only have one single correct answer for your quiz AND have selected the option to limit the learner to choosing only one answer as part of the settings - the quiz question will now function as 'radio' buttons and will only allow one answer to be selected at a time (if they choose another answer it will unselect the existing answer).
Explorers must retry the quiz if incorrect submission (and cannot progress until correct). - If you enable this option, then explorers will need to retry the quiz if they answer incorrectly. This option only works for quizzes used within a topic (not when a quiz is used in an Assessment - see below). When this option is enabled and the submission is incorrect:
Explorers will see an incorrect message and a 'Try again' button to reset the quiz.
Explorers will see the 'Incorrect feedback' message, if that option has also been enabled. Otherwise, they will not see any feedback (to avoid giving away the answer).
Display this quiz in this part, the assessment or both. (topics only) - If your topic has the Assessment module enabled, you will see an extra option in your quiz settings regarding where the quiz should be displayed. Quizzes can be displayed:
In the topic at that point.
In the assessment module at the end of topic.
In both locations (so it is asked first as the explorer completes the topic and then asked again at the end during the assessment module). This option allows you to re-use important quizzes to reinforce content in the topic and again in the assessment.
Option - Quizzes with images
You can also add an image to your quiz by checking the related option below your quiz question. You can then upload an image or import an image from our library, which will be displayed between your quiz question and the answers.
Images can be edited, as required, using our Image Editor. When clicked by a learner, images zoom to show a larger version of the image. Please note, this does not apply to images inserted directly into text.
Option - Feedback
Optionally, you can specify the feedback you want to show explorers after they have selected their response(s). If specific feedback isn't provided, explorers will simply be advised whether their response is correct or not and thanked for answering.
You can also choose to show different feedback for incorrect responses by ticking the applicable option and specifying your feedback for correct and incorrect answers.

When the Assessment module is enabled for a topic, you are required to create a minimum number of quizzes which are toggled for display in the assessment.
If you're unsure, you can always ask Sage if your topic is ready to publish and you'll then find out if you have created enough quizzes.
You can create more quizzes than the minimum required for the assessment too. If you have extra quizzes, the platform treats them like a question pool and will draw random quizzes from the pool for each explorer.
Note: When you enable the assessment module, be sure to manage the settings for where to display each quiz accordingly (i.e. you can choose to include each quiz where you create it, in the assessment only, or in both).
