Each topic, article and pathway in Tribal Habit can have a Certified Date assigned to it. Essentially, a Certified Date assigns a future date to an enrolment when it is conquered. That future date represents the period for which the explorer is 'certified' in that topic, article or pathway.
You can edit this setting on the Settings tab within each topic, article or pathway and in the Certification panel. Much like a Due Date, the Certified Date can be set to...
- None. This is the default choice.
- Yes - based on days from conquering or enrolment. In this case, you enter a number of days for which the explorer will be certified in the topic, article or pathway. The Certified Date will then be calculated as either (a) the date the explorer is enrolled in the knowledge plus the given number of days (b) the date the explorer conquers the knowledge plus the given number of days (selecting conquered or enrolled from the dropdown menu).
- Yes - based on a specific date. In this case, you select a specific date from the calendar. All explorers will be assigned this Certified Date when they conquer the knowledge, regardless of when they were enrolled in it or actually conquer it.
Admins can also update or set a Certified Date for existing explorers who have conquered knowledge by going to the Explorers tab in that knowledge, selecting explorers and using the 'Change certified date' bulk action.
To clarify, a Certified Date is not an expiry date. The explorer does not lose access to the knowledge when the Certified Date is passed.
This date is about determining the period for which the explorer is considered 'certified' or 'up to date' in the knowledge, after which they need to retake the topic, article or pathway to stay updated and current with their knowledge.
This function would, therefore, be very relevant for compliance-related training.
You can also enable re-certification, which automatically triggers a 'retake knowledge' enrolment when the explorer is close to the certification expiry. You can learn more about re-certification at this article.
